When you’re building your personal brand, you can’t do it alone. There are a huge range of products, tools and platforms available which will make your life easier and your personal brand stronger. From your assets and websites to your marketing strategy and simply keeping on top of that to-do list, tools are invaluable and come in all forms and for all budgets.

I’ve compiled a list of the top five products you should be looking into when you start building your personal brand:

Notion

A big part of building your personal brand is about organizing yourself, your priorities and getting on top of things.  A great way to do this is to have boards which organize and lay out your to-do list. However, many of the organization tools available, are limited to only boards, when in reality, you need a place to make notes and lists and jot down ideas which are shareable. Notion enables you to do all of these things and more, and is a fantastic alternative not only to traditional organization platforms such as Trello, but it can also take over Google Docs and the Google Drive due to the huge array of tools available within the platform. Notion is a great place to start for getting organized, creating content calendars and writing content.

Canva

Personal branding is about more than just the words you write, it’s about how you present them to an audience. Canva is a fantastic tool to create your personal brand pallet, which can then be used as the basis for brochures, presentations and, of course, social media content. It can also be the starting place for any assets you want to design which come with your brand, including online products. There’s nothing more important than having a tangible side to your personal brand, and with a free version, Canva is an easy way to create professional products which reflect you and your mission.

I use Canva to create all of the above. It’s an easy, high-quality tool for marketing material and keeps everything in one place for your reference!

Hootsuite

If you’re new to creating content and marketing yourself on social media, the likelihood is, you’ll find the content creation side slightly tedious. It takes a lot of work to create content which is on a newsfeed for a couple of hours, and it takes even longer to get to grips with writing an engaging caption. It’s trial and error, but social media is the most accessible, free platform that anyone can use to build a personal brand on. If you’ve followed one of my courses, you’ll know that by implementing my strategies, you can use social media to attract a huge range of opportunities and start conversations with an audience who previous felt out of reach.

To ease the need of publishing consistently, and to avoid making any mistakes, you can pre-plan and schedule all of your content using Hootsuite. Hootsuite has a range of options for individuals and agencies, and allows you to schedule your content as far in advance as you’d like. This means, that instead of needing to remember to post at a particular time every day, you can spend a couple of hours at the start of the week or month, scheduling everything you want to post, and put it out of your mind.

ActiveCampaign

Building an email list and building your audience is such an important part of developing your personal brand past the initial stations and into the ‘connection’ phase with your audience. ActiveCampaign allows you to do this by managing both your CRM and your email marketing in one place.

The CRM is a tool to keep track of conversations you’re having and follow any leads. It’s a great way to manage your audience and ensure you’re reaching the right people with the right information. Meanwhile, ActiveCampaign`s biggest selling point is its email marketing platform, which allows you to build out those all-important lists and create tailored mailing chains to specific audiences and manage new and existing contacts.
